CVE-2026-31650 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: vub300: fix use-after-free on disconnect The vub300 driver maintains an explicit reference count for the controller and its driver data and the last reference can in theory be dropped after the driver has been unbound. This specifically means that the controller allocation must not be device managed as that can lead to use-after-free. Note that the lifetime is currently also incorrectly tied the parent USB device rather than interface, which can lead to memory leaks if the driver is unbound without its device being physically disconnected (e.g. on probe deferral). Fix both issues by reverting to non-managed allocation of the controller.
CVE-2026-23007 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: zero non-PI portion of auto integrity buffer The auto-generated integrity buffer for writes needs to be fully initialized before being passed to the underlying block device, otherwise the uninitialized memory can be read back by userspace or anyone with physical access to the storage device. If protection information is generated, that portion of the integrity buffer is already initialized. The integrity data is also zeroed if PI generation is disabled via sysfs or the PI tuple size is 0. However, this misses the case where PI is generated and the PI tuple size is nonzero, but the metadata size is larger than the PI tuple. In this case, the remainder ("opaque") of the metadata is left uninitialized. Generalize the BLK_INTEGRITY_CSUM_NONE check to cover any case when the metadata is larger than just the PI tuple.
CVE-2025-22113 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: avoid journaling sb update on error if journal is destroying Presently we always BUG_ON if trying to start a transaction on a journal marked with JBD2_UNMOUNT, since this should never happen. However, while ltp running stress tests, it was observed that in case of some error handling paths, it is possible for update_super_work to start a transaction after the journal is destroyed eg: (umount) ext4_kill_sb kill_block_super generic_shutdown_super sync_filesystem /* commits all txns */ evict_inodes /* might start a new txn */ ext4_put_super flush_work(&sbi->s_sb_upd_work) /* flush the workqueue */ jbd2_journal_destroy journal_kill_thread journal->j_flags |= JBD2_UNMOUNT; jbd2_journal_commit_transaction jbd2_journal_get_descriptor_buffer jbd2_journal_bmap ext4_journal_bmap ext4_map_blocks ... ext4_inode_error ext4_handle_error schedule_work(&sbi->s_sb_upd_work) /* work queue kicks in */ update_super_work jbd2_journal_start start_this_handle BUG_ON(journal->j_flags & JBD2_UNMOUNT) Hence, introduce a new mount flag to indicate journal is destroying and only do a journaled (and deferred) update of sb if this flag is not set. Otherwise, just fallback to an un-journaled commit. Further, in the journal destroy path, we have the following sequence: 1. Set mount flag indicating journal is destroying 2. force a commit and wait for it 3. flush pending sb updates This sequence is important as it ensures that, after this point, there is no sb update that might be journaled so it is safe to update the sb outside the journal. (To avoid race discussed in 2d01ddc86606) Also, we don't need a similar check in ext4_grp_locked_error since it is only called from mballoc and AFAICT it would be always valid to schedule work here.
CVE-2024-42317 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/huge_memory: avoid PMD-size page cache if needed xarray can't support arbitrary page cache size. the largest and supported page cache size is defined as MAX_PAGECACHE_ORDER by commit 099d90642a71 ("mm/filemap: make MAX_PAGECACHE_ORDER acceptable to xarray"). However, it's possible to have 512MB page cache in the huge memory's collapsing path on ARM64 system whose base page size is 64KB. 512MB page cache is breaking the limitation and a warning is raised when the xarray entry is split as shown in the following example. [root@dhcp-10-26-1-207 ~]# cat /proc/1/smaps | grep KernelPageSize KernelPageSize: 64 kB [root@dhcp-10-26-1-207 ~]# cat /tmp/test.c : int main(int argc, char **argv) { const char *filename = TEST_XFS_FILENAME; int fd = 0; void *buf = (void *)-1, *p; int pgsize = getpagesize(); int ret = 0; if (pgsize != 0x10000) { fprintf(stdout, "System with 64KB base page size is required!\n"); return -EPERM; } system("echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/253:0/read_ahead_kb"); system("echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"); /* Open the xfs file */ fd = open(filename, O_RDONLY); assert(fd > 0); /* Create VMA */ buf = mmap(NULL, TEST_MEM_SIZE, PROT_READ, MAP_SHARED, fd, 0); assert(buf != (void *)-1); fprintf(stdout, "mapped buffer at 0x%p\n", buf); /* Populate VMA */ ret = madvise(buf, TEST_MEM_SIZE, MADV_NOHUGEPAGE); assert(ret == 0); ret = madvise(buf, TEST_MEM_SIZE, MADV_POPULATE_READ); assert(ret == 0); /* Collapse VMA */ ret = madvise(buf, TEST_MEM_SIZE, MADV_HUGEPAGE); assert(ret == 0); ret = madvise(buf, TEST_MEM_SIZE, MADV_COLLAPSE); if (ret) { fprintf(stdout, "Error %d to madvise(MADV_COLLAPSE)\n", errno); goto out; } /* Split xarray entry. CVE-2024-41008 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: change vm->task_info handling This patch changes the handling and lifecycle of vm->task_info object. The major changes are: - vm->task_info is a dynamically allocated ptr now, and its uasge is reference counted. - introducing two new helper funcs for task_info lifecycle management - amdgpu_vm_get_task_info: reference counts up task_info before returning this info - amdgpu_vm_put_task_info: reference counts down task_info - last put to task_info() frees task_info from the vm. This patch also does logistical changes required for existing usage of vm->task_info. V2: Do not block all the prints when task_info not found (Felix) V3: Fixed review comments from Felix - Fix wrong indentation - No debug message for -ENOMEM - Add NULL check for task_info - Do not duplicate the debug messages (ti vs no ti) - Get first reference of task_info in vm_init(), put last in vm_fini() V4: Fixed review comments from Felix - fix double reference increment in create_task_info - change amdgpu_vm_get_task_info_pasid - additional changes in amdgpu_gem.c while porting
CVE-2024-40999 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 9.8 Critical
