CVE-2026-98162 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb/server: fix tree connection leak in smb2_tree_connect() See the procedure below: smb2_tree_connect ksmbd_tree_conn_connect xa_store(&sess->tree_conns, tree_conn->id, tree_conn) ksmbd_counter_inc(KSMBD_COUNTER_TREE_CONNS) ksmbd_share_tree_conn_inc(sc) ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp // fail status.ret = KSMBD_TREE_CONN_STATUS_NOMEM // do not disconnect tree_conn Disconnect the new tree connection if ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp() fails.
CVE-2026-98131 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: fix dma mapping leak in stmmac_tso_xmit() In stmmac_tso_xmit(), if the DMA mapping of an skb fragment fails, the frame is dropped but the DMA mappings already created for the linear part and for the fragments mapped before the failure are never unmapped, leaking DMA mappings. Fix the leak by walking back over the descriptors used by the frame and releasing each of them with stmmac_free_tx_buffer(). Moreover, release the descriptors with stmmac_release_tx_desc() unmapping the DMA buffers.
CVE-2026-98056 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: remove stale namespaces by NSID range during scan nvme_scan_ns_list() drops the stale namespaces in each gap in the reported NSID list one NSID at a time. Every iteration calls nvme_find_get_ns() to look the namespace up and removes it if it is present. The loop runs once per NSID in the gap rather than once per namespace actually present. NSIDs are 32-bit, so a target with a sparse NSID space can make a single gap spin the loop billions of times with nothing to remove. watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#4 stuck for 26s! Workqueue: nvme-wq nvme_scan_work [nvme_core] RIP: 0010:__srcu_read_unlock+0xb/0x20 Call Trace: nvme_find_get_ns+0x7d/0xb0 [nvme_core] nvme_scan_ns_list+0xe8/0x280 [nvme_core] nvme_scan_work+0x18a/0x280 [nvme_core] process_one_work+0x197/0x380 worker_thread+0x2fe/0x410 kthread+0xe0/0x100 Rename nvme_remove_invalid_namespaces() to nvme_remove_nsid_range() and give it an open (start, end) NSID range. ctrl->namespaces is sorted by NSID, so the whole gap is dropped in a single walk that stops once end is reached. This bounds the work by the namespaces that are present instead of by the size of the gap.
CVE-2026-98003 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Do not reallocate GA log buffers on resume Commit c5e1a1eb9279 ("iommu/amd: Simplify and Consolidate Virtual APIC (AVIC) Enablement") moved the GA log allocation from iommu_init_pci() to enable_iommus_vapic(), which is called on every resume. iommu_init_ga_log() assigns iommu->ga_log and iommu->ga_log_tail unconditionally. Each resume therefore replaces the boot-time pointers and leaks both old allocations. The function also uses GFP_KERNEL from a syscore resume callback, where interrupts are disabled and the non-boot CPUs are offline. Return early if both buffers are already allocated. Clear the pointers in free_ga_log() so a partial allocation failure cannot leave ga_log dangling.
CVE-2026-97939 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmr: account multicast table and route memory A netadmin in a user+net namespace can create many IPv4 and IPv6 multicast routing tables with MRT_TABLE and MRT6_TABLE. Each unseen id allocates an mr_table via the shared mr_table_alloc(), links it into the per-net list, and leaves it until netns teardown. Those objects were not charged to memcg, so the host unreclaimable slab grows with the table count. Account mr_table allocations with GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT and mark the IPv4/IPv6 MFC caches SLAB_ACCOUNT. This matches the established handling of IP addresses, routes and alternate interface names. Unresolved MFC entries are still allocated from softIRQ with GFP_ATOMIC and are not charged. They expire after 10 seconds and are bounded by the socket receive queue; see commit 0079ad8e8dc3 ("ipmr: remove hard code cache_resolve_queue_len limit").
CVE-2026-97616 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_api: release all action references on NEWACTION failure When a batched RTM_NEWACTION request replaces an existing action, tcf_idr_check_alloc() takes a temporary reference on it. If a later action fails to initialize, tcf_action_destroy() uses strict release semantics to clean up the actions initialized so far. For an action bound to a filter, the strict check returns -EPERM without dropping the temporary reference. This error also makes tcf_action_destroy() return before releasing subsequent entries. Any new action initialized between the bound action and the failing entry is leaked together with its reserved IDR slot, preventing reuse of its index. Use tcf_idr_release() to drop each reference held by the batch without rejecting bound actions. This allows cleanup to continue through all initialized entries and preserves the module reference release when an action is destroyed. Explicit action deletion and flushing retain their separate bind-count checks.
CVE-2026-97597 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: flowlabel: cap duplicate leases per socket ipv6_flowlabel_get() allocates an ipv6_fl_socklist entry for every successful GET. The recheck path for a compatible existing flowlabel links another lease without applying any lease admission check. Repeated GET requests for one shareable label can therefore grow a socket's lease list without bound. Reject a new unprivileged lease once the socket already holds FL_MAX_PER_SOCK leases. Check this on the shared recheck path so reuse of a globally interned label, including the fl_intern() collision path, is covered as well. New-label admission remains under the existing mem_check() policy. Use capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN) rather than ns_capable(), matching mem_check(). An unprivileged user must not bypass the cap by creating a user namespace and a netns where they have CAP_NET_ADMIN, which would still consume host memory. Check the capability only when the socket reaches the limit, so successful unprivileged GET requests below the cap do not generate a capability audit. Do the admission check before updating linger and expires so a rejected GET does not refresh the shared label, matching the existing socket-list allocation failure path.
CVE-2026-93116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: asus-wmi: fix resource leaks on probe failure During driver initialization in asus_wmi_add(), various subsystems are registered sequentially. However, the error path labels are out of order relative to the registration sequence. Specifically: 1. If asus_wmi_custom_fan_curve_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_custom_fan_curve. Because this label is placed below fail_sysfs, it bypasses the cleanup calls for the input device and sysfs groups, which were successfully registered before, leaking those resources. 2. If asus_screenpad_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_screenpad. Because fail_screenpad is placed below fail_backlight, it bypasses the cleanup calls for backlight and rfkill, leaking those resources. Fix these resource leaks by reordering the error path labels in asus_wmi_add() to match the exact reverse order of the resource allocations.
CVE-2026-93090 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Clean up channels on setup failure scmi_channels_setup() can fail after the common BASE channel or earlier protocol channels have already been registered in the TX/RX IDRs. Route this failure through the existing channel cleanup label so the transport channels, transport devices and IDR state created before the failure are released before the probe error path frees the SCMI instance ID.
CVE-2026-90346 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: nl80211: clean up color-change beacon data on errors nl80211_color_change() calls nl80211_parse_beacon() for the beacon_next template, which can allocate params.beacon_next.mbssid_ies and .rnr_ies. A parsing failure returned directly instead of using the out: cleanup, leaking any allocations completed before the error. Allocate the nested attribute table before parsing beacon_next. Its allocation failure can then return before beacon data exists, while a later parsing failure uses out: to release the parsed data.
CVE-2026-90330 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: logitech-hidpp: Fix FF device cleanup on init failure hidpp_ff_init() creates the input force-feedback device with input_ff_create(), then allocates the HID++ FF private data, effect ID array, and workqueue. If any of those allocations fail after input_ff_create() succeeds, the function returns an error without destroying the FF device. Add an unwind path that frees the private allocations made by hidpp_ff_init() and calls input_ff_destroy() for failures after input_ff_create() succeeds.
CVE-2026-90234 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFS: Return a delegation the client fails to record When an NFS server grants a delegation in an OPEN reply, nfs_inode_set_delegation() records it on the client. However, three of its error flows return without sending DELEGRETURN. A delegation can be relinquished only by DELEGRETURN (RFC 8881 Section 20.2.4), so dropping one silently leaves the server believing the client still holds it. If the server happens to recall that delegation, the client answers CB_RECALL with NFS4ERR_BADHANDLE because it has no record of the stateid. The server revokes the delegation and moves it onto its cl_revoked list, because the client never sends the FREE_STATEID that would drain it. Every subsequent SEQUENCE reply then carries SEQ4_STATUS_RECALLABLE_STATE_REVOKED, and the client's state manager loops issuing TEST_STATEID across its delegations without ever clearing the condition. The window is easy to reach now that a server offers a write delegation on any write OPEN: a delegation recalled for one opener races a re-open that the server answers with a fresh write delegation. Instead of dropping it, hand the delegation back during these error flows.
CVE-2026-80616 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ieee802154: Avoid calling WARN_ON() on -ENOMEM in cfg802154_switch_netns() It's pointless to call WARN_ON() in case of an allocation failure in dev_change_net_namespace() and device_rename(), since it only leads to useless splats caused by deliberate fault injections, so avoid it. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller.
CVE-2026-74713 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost_iotlb: bound map allocation in add_range vhost_iotlb_add_range_ctx() only retires an old entry when the table has a non-zero limit, has exactly reached that limit and has VHOST_IOTLB_FLAG_RETIRE set. Non-retiring tables can keep allocating entries after reaching their configured limit. Existing vhost devices allocate their IOTLB with max_iotlb_entries from vhost.c, which defaults to 2048 and is tunable by module parameter. Use the caller-provided limit at the allocation point instead of adding a separate default in the common IOTLB helper, and reject non-positive values in vhost paths that can report an error. Other vhost IOTLB users should not create zero-limit tables when entries can be populated from userspace or guest-controlled requests. Add caller-side max_iotlb_entries parameters for mlx5 vDPA, VDUSE and vhost-vDPA. Reject non-positive VDUSE and vhost-vDPA values, and require at least two entries for vdpa_sim and mlx5 vDPA paths that install full-range mappings, since those mappings are split into two IOTLB entries. Handle full-range mappings in the common helper by checking that the IOTLB can hold both split entries before inserting the first half. This avoids returning an error after leaving a half mapping behind. When the table is full, keep the existing retire behavior for retiring tables and return -ENOSPC for non-retiring tables. Reuse the retired map node instead of freeing it and allocating a replacement, so a stream of IOTLB updates cannot keep forcing GFP_ATOMIC allocations after the table has reached its limit. If a zero-limit IOTLB still reaches the common helper, treat it as a configuration error and return -EINVAL. I found this bug myself, though the patch was written with AI assistance.
CVE-2026-74560 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: fix buffer leak in xsk_drop_skb() for AF_XDP multi-buffer Tx This patch is inspired by the check[1] from sashiko. It says when overflow happens, the address of cq to be published is invalid. Actually the severer thing is the whole process of publishing the address of cq in this particular case is not right: it should truely publish the address and advance the cached_prod in cq as long as it reads descriptors from txq. The following is the full analysis. xsk_drop_skb() is called in three places, which all discard a partially built multi-buffer skb: 1) xsk_build_skb() -EOVERFLOW error path: packet exceeds MAX_SKB_FRAGS 2) __xsk_generic_xmit() post-loop cleanup: an invalid descriptor in the TX ring prevents the partial packet from completing 3) xsk_release(): socket close while xs->skb holds an incomplete packet In all three cases, the TX descriptors for the already-processed frags have been consumed from the TX ring (xskq_cons_release), and CQ slots have been reserved. However, xsk_drop_skb() calls xsk_consume_skb() which cancels the CQ reservations via xsk_cq_cancel_locked(). Since the buffer addresses never appear in the completion queue, userspace permanently loses track of these buffers. Fix this by letting consume_skb() trigger the existing xsk_destruct_skb destructor, which already submits buffer addresses to the CQ via xsk_cq_submit_addr_locked(). Note that cancelling the descriptors back to the TX ring (via xskq_cons_cancel_n) is not a appropriate option because an oversized packet that always exceeds MAX_SKB_FRAGS would be retried indefinitely, which is an obviously deadlock bug in the TX path. Also move the desc->addr assignment in xsk_build_skb() above the overflow check so that the current descriptor's address is recorded before a potential -EOVERFLOW jump to free_err, consistent with the zerocopy path in xsk_build_skb_zerocopy(). CVE-2026-74559 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: drain continuation descs after overflow in xsk_build_skb() Fix generic xmit path multi-buffer logic when packets are either too big (count of descriptors exceed MAX_SKB_FRAGS) or an invalid descriptor is included in fragmented packet. Introduce xdp_sock::drain_cont and act upon this flag - when it is set, keep on consuming descriptors from AF_XDP Tx ring and put them directly onto Cq. Previously these descriptors were silently lost and could never be reached again.
CVE-2026-74558 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: reclaim invalid Tx descriptors in ZC batch path The zero-copy Tx batch parser stops when it encounters an invalid descriptor. If this happens after one or more continuation descriptors, the Tx consumer can be advanced past fragments that are neither submitted to the driver nor returned to userspace through the completion ring. A similar problem occurs when a packet exceeds xdp_zc_max_segs. The descriptors consumed up to the limit are released without completion, and the remaining continuation descriptors can subsequently be interpreted as the beginning of another packet. Parse Tx batches in packet units and distinguish descriptors belonging to complete valid packets from descriptors consumed while draining an invalid or oversized packet. Return the former to the driver and append the latter to the CQ address area so userspace can reclaim their UMEM frames. Treat a standalone invalid descriptor as a one-descriptor reclaim-only packet. Advancing the Tx-ring consumer releases the ring slot, but does not by itself return ownership of the referenced UMEM frame to userspace. Once draining starts, continue until the packet's end-of-packet descriptor is consumed. Preserve the drain state on the socket when EOP has not yet been supplied, so draining can continue during a later call. Leave incomplete but otherwise valid packets on the Tx ring. Shared-UMEM pools using multi-buffer Tx also need packet-framed parsing. Walk their Tx sockets one packet at a time, preserving the existing per-socket fairness scheme, instead of using the legacy one-descriptor fallback. Keep that fallback for shared pools that do not use multi-buffer Tx. Since the drain state is maintained per socket and both the singular and shared paths can resume an interrupted drain, changing the socket list from singular to shared requires no special bind-time transition. CQ entries are positional, and drivers may complete only part of the Tx work returned by xsk_tx_peek_release_desc_batch(). Therefore, reclaim-only entries cannot be published immediately when earlier driver-visible descriptors are still outstanding. Track the number of driver-visible CQ entries preceding the reclaim entries. Let xsk_tx_completed() publish partial hardware Tx completions, and publish the reclaim entries only after every earlier Tx descriptor has completed. Complete a reclaim-only batch immediately when there is no driver-visible work in front of it, and prevent another Tx batch from being appended while reclaim entries remain pending. Also cap batch processing by the size of the pool's temporary descriptor array, as Tx rings belonging to sockets sharing a UMEM may have different sizes. This ensures that every invalid Tx descriptor consumed by the ZC batch path is either submitted to the driver as part of a valid packet or returned to userspace without violating CQ completion ordering.
CVE-2026-74543 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: udp_tunnel: fix memory leak in udp_tunnel_nic_unregister() syzbot reported a memory leak [1] in the UDP tunnel NIC offload code. When device registration fails (e.g. in register_netdevice()), netdev core unwinds by sending a single NETDEV_UNREGISTER notification. If work was queued during NETDEV_REGISTER (utn->work_pending is set), udp_tunnel_nic_unregister() returns early: if (utn->work_pending) return; Because failed registrations do not enter netdev_wait_allrefs_any(), no subsequent NETDEV_UNREGISTER rebroadcast will ever occur. As a result, the struct udp_tunnel_nic allocated in udp_tunnel_nic_alloc() is leaked permanently. Fix this by removing the early return. Instead, synchronously cancel any pending work with cancel_delayed_work_sync() before freeing @utn. To be able to call cancel_delayed_work_sync() while holding RTNL (the work also needs RTNL), switch udp_tunnel_nic_device_sync_work() to rtnl_trylock(). If RTNL is contended, requeue the work with a 1 jiffy delay (via queue_delayed_work()) to prevent high CPU contention while waiting for RTNL lock. The utn->work_pending bookkeeping is no longer needed and is removed, as the workqueue core already tracks the pending/running state of the work. CVE-2026-74542 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix folio_queue ENOMEM in writeback by adding a mempool Fix the handling of folio_queue allocation failure in writeback by adding a mempool and passing in gfp_t flags to the rolling buffer functions that allocate memory, using the mempool if gfp != GFP_KERNEL. This is then extended upwards and the gfp to be used for a request is stored in the netfs_io_request struct and is then used for both requests and subrequests, eliminating the sleeping loops there. CVE-2026-74389 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hns: Fix log flood after cmd_mbox failure hns_roce_cmd_mbox() is the command interface between driver and hardware. When hardware is abnormal, the unlimited error printings after hns_roce_cmd_mbox() failure will cause log flood and even system crash. Replace ibdev_err() and ibdev_warn() with their ratelimited versions in the error handling path after hns_roce_cmd_mbox() (and its wrappers hns_roce_create_hw_ctx/hns_roce_destroy_hw_ctx) fails.
