CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. Opening a crafted XCF with a malformed text-layer parasite can cause a heap out-of-bounds read, disclosing adjacent heap data into layer text and causing denial of service. |
| Ning compress-lzf before 1.2.0 contains an out-of-bounds memory access vulnerability in the sun.misc.Unsafe based UnsafeChunkDecoder that fails to validate back-references and literal runs. Attackers can supply crafted LZF streams to applications using the default LZFDecoder to leak unrelated JVM heap memory into decompressed output or crash the JVM. |
| The PNG chunk reader has no notion of chunk ordering. It records whether an IDAT has been seen and whether a tRNS has already supplied transparency, but nothing prevents an IHDR being read a second time.
A PNG carries exactly one IHDR and it is the first chunk. A file that places a second one after IDAT rewrites the image width, height, bit depth and pixel depth *after* the decoded-data buffer has already been allocated and filled from the original values. The pass that reverses the PNG row filters then derives its own extent from the new dimensions and walks the old allocation, moving image bytes past the end of it.
The buffer is allocated by GUIX rather than supplied by the caller, so the application has no way to size it defensively. The decoder is compiled in by default. |
| `gx_binres_theme_load()` and `gx_binres_font_load()` take the resource as a bare `GX_UBYTE *` with no length, and `GX_BINRES_DATA_INFO` has no field to carry one. Every read is therefore performed at an offset the file itself chose, against a buffer whose extent the loader does not know. A resource that declares more data than it contains is read past its end, and an offset stored in the file is turned into a pointer without being bounded.
This is a distinct defect from GHSA-hgcj-22cg-4hfv, which was an underflowed glyph count. It needs no underflow and no wrapped multiply: a perfectly well-formed, narrow glyph range reaches it. |
| The GUIX JPEG software decoder enforces no ordering on JPEG markers. A file that places a second `SOF0` frame header after `SOS` re-runs the frame header parser after the output buffer has already been allocated and its geometry latched. The decoder returns `GX_SUCCESS` and publishes a `GX_PIXELMAP` whose reported dimensions and `data_size` exceed the allocation behind it.
Any consumer that trusts the returned structure reads out of bounds, including GUIX's own display drivers, reached through the ordinary draw path.
Reproduces in the shipped default configuration; `GX_SOFTWARE_DECODER_SUPPORT` is enabled by default. |
| The GUIX software JPEG decoder reads four kinds of marker segment without checking that each is long enough to hold what it reads. A truncated segment is therefore read past the end of the caller's image buffer. Separately, a zero chroma sampling factor makes the block decode loop non-terminating. Both reproduce in the default configuration, in which `GX_SOFTWARE_DECODER_SUPPORT` is enabled. |
| `_gx_multi_line_text_view_display_info_get()` reads one byte past the end of the application's text buffer when the string it is given ends with a carriage return (`\r`). The over-read can also cause callers to advance their index past the end of the string, producing a second over-read in `_gx_multi_line_text_view_string_total_rows_compute()` and a row of text that is not in the source. |
| Out-of-bounds read in Windows Event Logging Service allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| An out-of-bounds read was found in the NC-SI OEM response handler of libslirp. A truncated NC-SI OEM Ethernet frame causes ncsi_rsp_handler_oem() to read up to 4 bytes beyond the supplied packet length and reflect the value into the response sent to the guest, resulting in guest-observable disclosure of adjacent host process memory. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
thunderbolt: Reject oversized XDomain properties responses
tb_xdp_properties_request() allocates room for 45 data dwords in its
252-byte response buffer. The XDomain length field is six bits wide,
however, and a malicious peer can set it to 63. After the fixed response
fields are subtracted, the driver treats this as 48 data dwords.
Commit 322e93448d90 ("thunderbolt: Clamp XDomain response data copy to
allocation size") only bounds the copy against data_len. If data_len is
at least 48, memcpy() reads 192 bytes from the 180-byte res->data array,
causing a 12-byte heap out-of-bounds read. Commit 4db2bd2ed478
("thunderbolt: Limit XDomain response copy to actual frame size") limits
the earlier copy but does not constrain this header-derived length.
Reject response data lengths that exceed the allocated source buffer
before copying them into the assembled property block. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: discard post-EOF pagecache when extending a file via zero range
smb3_zero_range() removed the pagecache only for the range being zeroed,
so when it extends the file the folio straddling the old EOF - which may
hold data dirtied past EOF through an mmap - was never dropped and became
visible as file content once the file was extended.
Lower the discard boundary to the smaller of the zero-range offset and the
old EOF. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iio: pressure: bmp280: fix out-of-bounds access in sampling frequency lookup
The sampling frequency tables store each frequency as an integer part and
a fractional part in micro units. num_sampling_freq_avail is initialized
to the number of flattened integer elements because read_avail() returns
the table as a flat array.
bmp280_write_sampling_frequency(), however, indexes the same table as a
two-dimensional array and uses num_sampling_freq_avail as the number of
rows. Convert the flattened element count back to the number of rows
before iterating over the table. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath11k: update channel list in reg notifier instead reg worker
Currently when ath11k gets a new channel list, it will be processed
according to the following steps:
1. update new channel list to cfg80211 and queue reg_work.
2. cfg80211 handles new channel list during reg_work.
3. update cfg80211's handled channel list to firmware by
ath11k_reg_update_chan_list().
But ath11k will immediately execute step 3 after reg_work is just
queued. Since step 2 is asynchronous, cfg80211 may not have completed
handling the new channel list, which may leading to an out-of-bounds
write error:
BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ath11k_reg_update_chan_list
Call Trace:

ath11k_regd_update_work+0x14/0x20 [ath11k]
process_one_work+0xe35/0x14c0
Should ensure step 2 is completely done before executing step 3. Thus
Wen raised patch[1]. When flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER is set,
cfg80211 will notify ath11k after step 2 is done.
So enable the flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER then cfg80211 will
notify ath11k after step 2 is done. At this time, there will be no
KASAN bug during the execution of the step 3.

1) open /dev/tty0, set a KDFONTOP ioctl with op.op = KD_FONT_OP_SET,
op.width = 8 and op.height = 16 (visible VC1)
2) open /dev/tty1, set a KDFONTOP ioctl with op.op = KD_FONT_OP_SET,
op.width = 28 and op.height = 24 (invisible VC2)
3) echo 3 > /sys/devices/virtual/graphics/fbcon/rotate_all
4) write EShash8(esc hash8) to tty1
[CAUSE]
All VCs render to the framebuffer. setfont only modifies the target VC's
font without resizing the framebuffer backing buffer (par->rotated.buf);
the buffer is only resized for the visible VC
(fbcon_do_set_font -> ... -> vc_do_resize -> update_screen). This relies on
the con_should_update() check performed before every update_region().
However, the ESC # 8 path (do_con_trol -> do_update_region) omits the
con_should_update() check. After changing the font size of an invisible VC,
do_update_region() fills using the new font size against a buffer that was
never resized, causing an out-of-bounds access.
[FIX]
Only push the update when the console is visible and not blanked, add
the con_should_update() check in the do_con_trol() like every other call
site of do_update_region() (update_region(), invert_screen(), ...). |

Bluetooth: btintel: fix buffer over-read in btintel_hw_error()
The "Exception info %s" print uses skb->data + 1, but the 12-byte

its end.
Bound the print with "%.*s" and skb->len - 1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/nouveau/uvmm: fix UAF in nouveau_uvmm_sm when BO is in TTM_PL_SYSTEM
nouveau_uvmm_sm() calls op_map(), which passes bo->resource through
nouveau_mem() to nouveau_uvma_map(). nouveau_uvmm_vmm_map() then reads
mem->mem.type.
But this is only valid when bo->resource is backed by struct nouveau_mem,
as is the case for VRAM and TT resources. If the BO is left in
TTM_PL_SYSTEM, bo->resource is only a struct ttm_resource. Treating it
as struct nouveau_mem makes the mem->mem.type read past the end of the
resource, causing a KASAN: slab-use-after-free Read in nouveau_uvmm_sm
