CVE-2026-100071 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hsr: free learned nodes on device setup failure hsr_dev_finalize() can fail after a lower-device RX handler has already been registered (slave A is added before the failable slave B and interlink adds). RX handlers run in softirq regardless of the master's state, so frames received in that window can learn dynamic nodes into node_db, and the error unwind never releases them. Free both owned dynamic databases in the unwind, mirroring hsr_dellink(). proxy_node_db is provably empty on every current error exit (only interlink RX feeds it, and the interlink add is the last failable step) and is freed for symmetry. The order is safe: hsr_del_port() unregisters each RX handler with synchronize_net() before hsr_del_nodes() runs, which removes remaining entries with list_del_rcu() and defers their release with call_rcu() for readers already under RCU.
CVE-2026-106575 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31, a crafted Magick script can cause an opened file pointer to remain unclosed, allowing repeated processing to exhaust available file descriptors. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-31.
CVE-2026-89096 2 Nfs, Redhat 4 Nfs-utils, Enterprise Linux, Openshift and 1 more 2026-10-21 5.9 Medium
A flaw was found in nfs-utils. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending repeated state notification requests to an exposed rpc.statd service. The service fails to properly release memory allocated during callback processing, leading to continuous memory growth. Sustained requests can exhaust system resources, eventually causing the service to degrade or crash.
CVE-2026-72438 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: fix writes_pending and barrier reference leaks on discard failures raid10_make_request() acquires a writes_pending reference with md_write_start() before calling raid10_handle_discard(). Several failure paths in raid10_handle_discard() complete the bio and return without releasing the corresponding reference, causing md_write_end() to be skipped. Call md_write_end() before returning from these failure paths to keep writes_pending accounting balanced. Additionally, discard split allocation failures can occur after wait_barrier() succeeds. Those paths return without calling allow_barrier(), leaking the associated barrier reference. Release the barrier before returning from those paths.
CVE-2026-53229 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: xsk: Fix DMA and xdp_frame leak on XDP_TX xmit failure In the XSK branch of mlx5e_xmit_xdp_buff(), when sq->xmit_xdp_frame() returns false (e.g. XDPSQ is full), the function returns without unmapping the DMA address or freeing the xdp_frame allocated by xdp_convert_zc_to_xdp_frame(). The xdpi_fifo push only happens on success, so the completion path cannot recover these entries. With CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG=y, the leak surfaces on driver unbind: DMA-API: pci 0000:08:00.0: device driver has pending DMA allocations while released from device [count=1116] One of leaked entries details: [device address=0x000000010ffd7028] [size=1534 bytes] [mapped with DMA_TO_DEVICE] [mapped as phy] WARNING: kernel/dma/debug.c:881 at dma_debug_device_change+0x127/0x180 ... DMA-API: Mapped at: debug_dma_map_phys+0x4b/0xd0 dma_map_phys+0xfd/0x2d0 mlx5e_xdp_handle+0x5ae/0xac0 [mlx5_core] mlx5e_xsk_skb_from_cqe_mpwrq_linear+0xc4/0x170 [mlx5_core] mlx5e_handle_rx_cqe_mpwrq+0xc1/0x290 [mlx5_core] Add the missing unmap + xdp_return_frame, matching the cleanup already done in mlx5e_xdp_xmit(). has_frags is rejected earlier in this branch, so no per-frag unmap is needed.
CVE-2026-98851 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_flow_offload: drop flowtable reference on init error path nft_flow_offload_init() bumps the flowtable use count with nft_use_inc() before calling nf_ct_netns_get(). When the latter fails, the error is returned as-is and the reference is leaked. The upper layers do not balance it either: nf_tables_newexpr() clears expr->ops when the expression init callback fails, so the nft_expr_more() iteration in nft_rule_expr_deactivate() and nf_tables_rule_destroy() stops right before the failed expression and its ->destroy callback, which would drop the reference, never runs. Each failed rule addition therefore leaks one flowtable reference and the flowtable can no longer be removed: NFT_MSG_DELFLOWTABLE keeps reporting -EBUSY even though no rule references it. Save the nf_ct_netns_get() return value and undo the nft_use_inc() when it fails, restoring the inc/dec pairing within nft_flow_offload_init() itself.
CVE-2026-98777 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binder: fix leaked fd fixups on TF_UPDATE_TXN supersede When a TF_UPDATE_TXN transaction supersedes a pending async transaction in a frozen process, the outdated transaction is freed with kfree() directly. This skips binder_free_txn_fixups(), leaking all binder_txn_fd_fixup entries and their fget()'d struct file references. The leaked file refcounts never reach zero, so the struct file objects are permanently pinned in memory. They survive process exit and accumulate across invocations until file-max exhaustion. Every other transaction cleanup path (binder_free_transaction(), binder_transaction() error paths, binder_release_work()) correctly calls binder_free_txn_fixups(). Add the missing call before kfree() in the t_outdated cleanup block.
CVE-2026-98502 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: alps: unregister DualPoint Stick input device on remove alps_input_configured() allocates a second input device ("DualPoint Stick") with input_allocate_device() and registers it, but the alps_driver struct has no .remove handler and input2 is not tracked in hdev->inputs. The default remove path (hid_hw_stop -> hidinput_disconnect) only iterates hdev->inputs, so input2 is never unregistered and leaks on every device removal. Add a .remove handler that stops the device first (preventing URB callbacks from touching input2 during teardown) and then unregisters input2.
CVE-2026-98486 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 1.9 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: fix MMIO read buffer leak on probe failure ena_device_init() initializes the MMIO read mechanism with ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_init(), which allocates a coherent DMA buffer for MMIO read responses. The normal removal path releases this buffer through ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy(). However, if ena_probe() fails after ena_device_init() succeeds, the error path destroys the admin resources and eventually frees ena_dev without destroying the MMIO read request, leaving the coherent DMA buffer allocated. Call ena_com_mmio_reg_read_request_destroy() in the probe error path before releasing the remaining device resources. This issue was found by manual code inspection.
CVE-2026-98453 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 4.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: close handle after create-context parsing failure SMB2_open() accounts a successful CREATE response as a remote open before parsing its create contexts. If smb2_parse_contexts() rejects malformed context data, SMB2_open() returns without closing the handle, leaving the server-side handle open and num_remote_opens elevated. Close the handle after a post-CREATE context parsing failure so the error path releases the remote resource and balances the open count.
CVE-2026-98451 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: use finish_no_open() for non-regular inodes An O_CREAT open can find an existing symlink or another non-regular inode. cifs_atomic_open() calls finish_open() on it and attaches a cifsFileInfo. Symlink inodes have no CIFS release operation, so the dentry reference held by cifsFileInfo is leaked. FMODE_OPENED also prevents the VFS from following the symlink. Track whether cifs_do_create() returned an open server handle. For non-regular inodes, close the handle if present, remove the pending open, and call finish_no_open() so the VFS can continue the lookup. Do not set FMODE_CREATED unless a regular file was opened. For O_NOFOLLOW with __O_REGULAR, return -ELOOP before the VFS's -EFTYPE check. Defer closing a legacy POSIX handle on a non-regular inode until after inode lookup. This avoids closing it again if lookup fails.
CVE-2026-98450 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: close completed creates on compound wait errors compound_send_recv() waits for responses in order. If a later wait is interrupted, or if a later MID fails during response synchronization, an earlier CREATE may already have opened a remote handle. The earlier mid is then released without invoking handle_cancelled_mid(), leaving the remote handle open because no FID was copied to the caller. Mark completed earlier mids as cancelled when a compound wait or MID synchronization aborts. Keep their response buffers attached while the MIDs are synchronized, and transfer them only after synchronization of the processed responses, so the release path can inspect successful CREATE responses and queue SMB2_close() after a later failure. Account for a remote open only after the close work is allocated and before it is queued, since the caller has not yet updated num_remote_opens. Mark the create+close compound used by smb2_unlink() so it is not closed again. Non-CREATE responses and compounds that already include a close keep their existing behavior.
CVE-2026-98162 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb/server: fix tree connection leak in smb2_tree_connect() See the procedure below: smb2_tree_connect ksmbd_tree_conn_connect xa_store(&sess->tree_conns, tree_conn->id, tree_conn) ksmbd_counter_inc(KSMBD_COUNTER_TREE_CONNS) ksmbd_share_tree_conn_inc(sc) ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp // fail status.ret = KSMBD_TREE_CONN_STATUS_NOMEM // do not disconnect tree_conn Disconnect the new tree connection if ksmbd_iov_pin_rsp() fails.
CVE-2026-98131 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: fix dma mapping leak in stmmac_tso_xmit() In stmmac_tso_xmit(), if the DMA mapping of an skb fragment fails, the frame is dropped but the DMA mappings already created for the linear part and for the fragments mapped before the failure are never unmapped, leaking DMA mappings. Fix the leak by walking back over the descriptors used by the frame and releasing each of them with stmmac_free_tx_buffer(). Moreover, release the descriptors with stmmac_release_tx_desc() unmapping the DMA buffers.
CVE-2026-98003 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Do not reallocate GA log buffers on resume Commit c5e1a1eb9279 ("iommu/amd: Simplify and Consolidate Virtual APIC (AVIC) Enablement") moved the GA log allocation from iommu_init_pci() to enable_iommus_vapic(), which is called on every resume. iommu_init_ga_log() assigns iommu->ga_log and iommu->ga_log_tail unconditionally. Each resume therefore replaces the boot-time pointers and leaks both old allocations. The function also uses GFP_KERNEL from a syscore resume callback, where interrupts are disabled and the non-boot CPUs are offline. Return early if both buffers are already allocated. Clear the pointers in free_ga_log() so a partial allocation failure cannot leave ga_log dangling.
CVE-2026-97616 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_api: release all action references on NEWACTION failure When a batched RTM_NEWACTION request replaces an existing action, tcf_idr_check_alloc() takes a temporary reference on it. If a later action fails to initialize, tcf_action_destroy() uses strict release semantics to clean up the actions initialized so far. For an action bound to a filter, the strict check returns -EPERM without dropping the temporary reference. This error also makes tcf_action_destroy() return before releasing subsequent entries. Any new action initialized between the bound action and the failing entry is leaked together with its reserved IDR slot, preventing reuse of its index. Use tcf_idr_release() to drop each reference held by the batch without rejecting bound actions. This allows cleanup to continue through all initialized entries and preserves the module reference release when an action is destroyed. Explicit action deletion and flushing retain their separate bind-count checks.
CVE-2026-93116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: asus-wmi: fix resource leaks on probe failure During driver initialization in asus_wmi_add(), various subsystems are registered sequentially. However, the error path labels are out of order relative to the registration sequence. Specifically: 1. If asus_wmi_custom_fan_curve_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_custom_fan_curve. Because this label is placed below fail_sysfs, it bypasses the cleanup calls for the input device and sysfs groups, which were successfully registered before, leaking those resources. 2. If asus_screenpad_init() fails, the driver jumps to fail_screenpad. Because fail_screenpad is placed below fail_backlight, it bypasses the cleanup calls for backlight and rfkill, leaking those resources. Fix these resource leaks by reordering the error path labels in asus_wmi_add() to match the exact reverse order of the resource allocations.
CVE-2026-90330 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: logitech-hidpp: Fix FF device cleanup on init failure hidpp_ff_init() creates the input force-feedback device with input_ff_create(), then allocates the HID++ FF private data, effect ID array, and workqueue. If any of those allocations fail after input_ff_create() succeeds, the function returns an error without destroying the FF device. Add an unwind path that frees the private allocations made by hidpp_ff_init() and calls input_ff_destroy() for failures after input_ff_create() succeeds.
CVE-2026-74559 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: drain continuation descs after overflow in xsk_build_skb() Fix generic xmit path multi-buffer logic when packets are either too big (count of descriptors exceed MAX_SKB_FRAGS) or an invalid descriptor is included in fragmented packet. Introduce xdp_sock::drain_cont and act upon this flag - when it is set, keep on consuming descriptors from AF_XDP Tx ring and put them directly onto Cq. Previously these descriptors were silently lost and could never be reached again.
CVE-2026-74558 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: reclaim invalid Tx descriptors in ZC batch path The zero-copy Tx batch parser stops when it encounters an invalid descriptor. If this happens after one or more continuation descriptors, the Tx consumer can be advanced past fragments that are neither submitted to the driver nor returned to userspace through the completion ring. A similar problem occurs when a packet exceeds xdp_zc_max_segs. The descriptors consumed up to the limit are released without completion, and the remaining continuation descriptors can subsequently be interpreted as the beginning of another packet. Parse Tx batches in packet units and distinguish descriptors belonging to complete valid packets from descriptors consumed while draining an invalid or oversized packet. Return the former to the driver and append the latter to the CQ address area so userspace can reclaim their UMEM frames. Treat a standalone invalid descriptor as a one-descriptor reclaim-only packet. Advancing the Tx-ring consumer releases the ring slot, but does not by itself return ownership of the referenced UMEM frame to userspace. Once draining starts, continue until the packet's end-of-packet descriptor is consumed. Preserve the drain state on the socket when EOP has not yet been supplied, so draining can continue during a later call. Leave incomplete but otherwise valid packets on the Tx ring. Shared-UMEM pools using multi-buffer Tx also need packet-framed parsing. Walk their Tx sockets one packet at a time, preserving the existing per-socket fairness scheme, instead of using the legacy one-descriptor fallback. Keep that fallback for shared pools that do not use multi-buffer Tx. Since the drain state is maintained per socket and both the singular and shared paths can resume an interrupted drain, changing the socket list from singular to shared requires no special bind-time transition. CQ entries are positional, and drivers may complete only part of the Tx work returned by xsk_tx_peek_release_desc_batch(). Therefore, reclaim-only entries cannot be published immediately when earlier driver-visible descriptors are still outstanding. Track the number of driver-visible CQ entries preceding the reclaim entries. Let xsk_tx_completed() publish partial hardware Tx completions, and publish the reclaim entries only after every earlier Tx descriptor has completed. Complete a reclaim-only batch immediately when there is no driver-visible work in front of it, and prevent another Tx batch from being appended while reclaim entries remain pending. Also cap batch processing by the size of the pool's temporary descriptor array, as Tx rings belonging to sockets sharing a UMEM may have different sizes. This ensures that every invalid Tx descriptor consumed by the ZC batch path is either submitted to the driver as part of a valid packet or returned to userspace without violating CQ completion ordering.
